not waterproof, they are water resistant, all custom high end covers are breathable, ou do not want a plastic waterproof cover it will trap moisture under it.
These are material and will block & protect from all that does damage to the paint, sun, UV, dirt, dust, bird crap, tree sap etc.
Water does not do any damage unless you have a leak.
